MINAMI ALPS

Kita Dake, Ai-no Dake & Nakashirane-san

WATERFALLS, FROZEN RIVER AND ROCKS

From Kofu, we took a bus and start out 1700m ascent from Hirogawara. Started at 7am, and should summit Kita-Dake (3193m/10,476 ft) by 4pm.

BEAUTIFUL BUT CLOUDY

Climbing through the valley following the river. As we get higher, we still see the frozen part of the river.

SUMMITS

We summit Kita-Dake (3193m) and went to stay at Kita-Dake Sanso and at 4am, head off to Nakashirane-san (3055m) and Aino-dake (3,189m)

OUR NEXT SUMMIT

While we head back down today, tomorrow, we’ll be heading Mt Fuji. Japan’s highest.

Footnotes: This is a beautiful and scenic hike. I would definitely try this again and visit other summits along this alps.
